What kind of robot needs help?

Where do I find the model?

Check the official app, receipt, or product label. Power down before handling the robot; do not turn over a mower to look for a label. A dock may have a different model number. A family name such as Shark AI can cover several models.

3. What is happening?

Choose a problem to walk through general first checks. Use the exact model manual for error codes and repairs.

Directory reviewed September 7, 2026. US resources where available: Shark · iRobot · Roborock · Dolphin / Maytronics · Aiper · Husqvarna · Worx. These are general starting points; model-specific coverage is still growing.

PRACTICAL GUIDES / EXPAND TO READ

These are general starting points. Your exact model’s official manual takes priority; controls and care requirements vary.

Robot not charging?+

Start with the dock, the contacts, and the power supply.

  1. Check the power path

Make sure the original power adapter is firmly connected to the dock and a working outlet. Check the dock indicator against your model’s manual.

  2. Inspect the charging contacts

Turn the robot off and unplug the dock before cleaning. Remove visible dust from the contacts using the method specified by the manufacturer. Keep liquids away from electrical parts.

  3. Seat the robot on its dock

Position the robot so its contacts meet the dock contacts. Look for the charging indication described in its manual and allow the recommended charging time.

  4. Know when to stop

If the battery is swollen, leaking, unusually hot, or smells burnt, stop using and charging the robot. Contact the manufacturer. Do not open the battery pack.

Wi-Fi won’t connect?+

A practical checklist before you reach for the reset button.

  1. Confirm the model requirements

Check the exact robot model and its official setup instructions. Some models require a 2.4 GHz network; do not assume every robot supports the same Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Check the basics

Confirm that your phone can use your home Wi-Fi, that the password is correct, and that the robot is within reliable range of your router.

  3. Follow the app’s pairing flow

Use the manufacturer’s official app. Enable only the permissions required by its pairing instructions, and put the robot into pairing mode using the model-specific steps.

  4. Leave factory reset until last

Read what a reset removes before proceeding. It may erase maps, schedules, or account links. If pairing still fails, record the error and contact official support.

A little maintenance. A better clean.+

Build an easy care routine for your robot vacuum.

  1. After a cleaning run

Check the bin and remove visible debris. Inspect the main brush and side brush for hair or thread. Switch off the robot before touching moving parts.

  2. Check filters and washable parts

Follow your model’s cleaning intervals. Wash only parts explicitly labeled washable and let them dry fully before refitting. Never rinse the whole robot.

  3. Keep the dock area clear

Remove clutter around the dock. Inspect accessible openings and check whether a self-emptying bag or water tank needs attention, following the manual.

  4. Replace parts by condition

Look for worn brushes, damaged filters, and cracked components. Use compatible parts approved for your model. Keep a note of replacements and recurring issues.

Meet your new robot.+

The first-day checklist for a smoother start.

  1. Identify your exact model

Save the model name, serial number, receipt, and official manual. Similar-looking models can have different setup and care requirements.

  2. Prepare its home

Place its dock on the surface and with the clearances specified by the manufacturer. Remove shipping materials as instructed and charge before the first run.

  3. Set up thoughtfully

Install the official app, use a unique account password, and review camera, microphone, and cloud-sharing controls if your robot has them.

  4. Supervise the first run

Watch how it handles your home before scheduling unattended tasks. Set boundaries using supported controls, and keep children and pets clear of moving parts.

Still stuck? Make support easier.+

Gather the details that turn a vague issue into a useful report.

  1. Capture the exact symptom

Write down the complete error message, when it started, and whether it happens every time. Take a photo or short video if it is safe.

  2. Record what changed

Note recent app updates, network changes, moved furniture, replacement parts, or changes to the dock location.

  3. List checks already completed

Include your exact model, app version, and the troubleshooting steps you tried. Never send your Wi-Fi password or account password.

  4. Use the official support channel

Find the support link through your manufacturer’s website or official app. Check warranty terms before attempting repairs or using third-party service.
